Markus Rustler

Markus Rustler, President and CEO of Theegarten-Pactec, is nominated for International Confectionery Industry Champion for advancing packaging innovation and industry leadership.

Markus Rustler has established himself as an influential leader in the global confectionery packaging industry, combining almost two decades of executive leadership with a commitment to engineering excellence, technological innovation and international collaboration.

As President and CEO of Theegarten-Pactec, Rustler represents the fourth generation of the family business, which has specialised in confectionery packaging machinery since 1934. Joining the company in 2006 and assuming overall leadership in 2009, he has helped strengthen its position as a leading manufacturer of high-performance packaging solutions.

Under his leadership, Theegarten-Pactec has continued expanding its international presence, with representatives in more than 100 countries and exports accounting for approximately 95% of business.

Advancing Confectionery Packaging Technology

Rustler has championed continuous investment in engineering, automation and digitalisation, helping confectionery manufacturers improve production efficiency, flexibility and packaging quality.

Theegarten-Pactec’s specialist technologies cover high-speed wrapping of chocolate, sweets and other small confectionery products, with an emphasis on reliable operation and adaptable machinery.

In 2026, the company highlighted its latest innovation, the FPC6 flow-wrapping system, featuring an entirely new machine design. The development reflects its commitment to meeting evolving manufacturer requirements, including greater production flexibility and compatibility with different packaging formats.

Rustler has also prioritised sustainable packaging technologies, supporting machinery development that enables manufacturers to process alternative packaging materials while maintaining industrial production efficiency.

Championing International Industry Collaboration

Beyond Theegarten-Pactec, Rustler has made significant contributions to the wider packaging industry through his involvement with the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and interpack.

Appointed President of interpack’s Advisory Board in 2021, he has helped guide one of the world’s most important processing and packaging exhibitions, including its 2023 and 2026 editions.

His leadership has supported international dialogue on automation, digitalisation, sustainability and the future of packaging technology.

In 2026, Theegarten-Pactec also strengthened its executive management team, supporting the company’s long-term development and continued competitiveness.
