Jean-Erik Verbeke

Jean-Erik Verbeke, co-owner of Chocolate World, is nominated for International Confectionery Industry Champion for advancing chocolate innovation, education and craftsmanship.

Jean-Erik Verbeke has emerged as a strong advocate for craftsmanship, education and international collaboration within the professional chocolate sector. Since acquiring Chocolate World with his brother Adriaan in 2024, he has helped guide the Belgian company into a new phase of growth while maintaining its focus on specialist chocolate equipment, moulds and technical expertise.

Expanding access to chocolate expertise

A major focus of Verbeke’s leadership has been strengthening the support available to professional chocolatiers. Chocolate World now offers more than 2,500 mould references and over 60 machine models, serving customers in more than 100 countries. Its portfolio spans tempering, enrobing, moulding and related production technologies, providing solutions for both artisan and larger-scale chocolate production.

In 2026, Verbeke helped extend this international reach through a new partnership with Henley Bridge in the UK. Launched in June, the agreement gives Henley Bridge sole UK distribution rights for Chocolate World machinery, alongside access to its professional polycarbonate mould portfolio. The partnership combines Chocolate World’s equipment with local technical knowledge and after-sales support, making its technologies more accessible to UK chocolatiers and confectionery manufacturers.

Championing education and the next generation

Verbeke has also placed education at the centre of Chocolate World’s wider role in the industry. Through the Belgian Chocolate School, the company supports practical training in traditional chocolate-making techniques while embracing newer developments in colour, flavour, moulding and design. Plans have included a new chocolate school in Dubai and an expanded training facility in Belgium intended for workshops, live demonstrations and industry networking.

His contribution extends beyond his own company. Verbeke has also served on the judging panel for the International Confectionery Awards, contributing his experience in strategic growth, craftsmanship and chocolate innovation to the recognition of excellence across the sector.

By combining business leadership with education, international partnerships and practical support for chocolatiers, Jean-Erik Verbeke is helping strengthen the infrastructure and skills that underpin the global chocolate industry.
