VegfestUK London returns to Olympia London

After an enforced absence of three years, the UK’s longest-running indoor vegan exhibition VegfestUK London returns with some gusto to Olympia Grand this autumn. The event promises to be a smorgasbord of vegan options that will inspire even the most hardened carnivore – and a welcome boost to hundreds of vegan independent businesses, all looking forward to returning to the live events environment to help boost sales, marketing, engagement and branding to an ever-increasing audience of both plant-based aficionados and hardcore vegans alike.

“Interest is high – and so is confidence”, report the organisers VegfestUK: “Currently we are receiving lots of enquiries from potential exhibitors. In addition to growing desire for live events and a hunger and appetite to return amongst exhibitors generally –we’ve also witnessed a phenomenal increase in plant-based options in the last few years and with plenty of new vegan businesses eager to exhibit, many for the first time at a major venue like Olympia London. Equally high for many on the agenda is sustainability.”

VegfestUK London is not just good for business – it’s also a flagship event for green credentials, as the links to animal agriculture and global environmental damage become even clearer. Plant-based options are now widely considered the most environmentally friendly food choices, and the event is 100% vegan. But the venue is also a good choice ‐ Olympia London is already a sustainability provider in the events industry and one of the very first venues in the UK to commit to net zero during COP26 when the global events industry got together to launch the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge, an international initiative led by industry associations and businesses, supported by the UNFCCC.

Committing to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050 at the latest, Olympia London already has a strong track record in sustainability. It was one of the founders and the first venue to achieve certification to the event sustainability management system international standard, ISO 20121; has sent zero waste to landfill for over a decade; and provides event organisers with a post‐event sustainability report, in addition to sending zero waste to landfill for over a decade.

“Olympia London has made big strides forward in the decade we’ve been exhibiting”, add the VegfestUK’s organisers, “and the introduction of plant-based options everywhere on site, coupled with a robust commitment to sustainability is an essential part of the continued success of our own event.’’

Having been exhibiting at Olympia London for 9 years, VegfestUK has grown in the venue from Olympia West Halls to Olympia Grand: the expansion in event space is intrinsically linked with the success of the show and ever-growing demand for a sustainable way of living.

VegfestUK is held on November 12th and 13th 2022 at Olympia London, coinciding with #Cop27.
