Döhler to acquire SVZ, strengthening portfolio

Global producer and provider of ingredients Döhler Group has announced acquiring SVZ subject to regulatory approval. This move will strengthen its portfolio of natural red fruit and vegetable ingredients, Döhler has said, in addition to its global market presence and expanding its operations in the US and Japan.

SVZ provides purees, concentrates and ingredients of sustainably sourced vegetables and red berries. With production sites based in the US, Spain, Poland and Belgium, the company has a global presence. Its experience and operational excellence complements Döhler’s sourcing, production and supply chain capabilities. With the acquisition, its customers will benefit from a broader ingredient portfolio and larger raw material base.

Consumers’ interest in natural and healthier ingredients has created rising demand for ingredients that offer better nutritional value and sensory experiences. SVZ’s portfolio contributes to this trend by offering a variety of high-fibre and nutrient-rich fruit and vegetable ingredients to enhance overall nutritional content of food and beverages.

SVZ went on to say that in 2021 Royal Cosun announced the research of a new global partner for the company that would allow it to grow and improve its position in the market, adding that in Döhler it had found such a partner.

“This is an incredible milestone for our business. We see this as a testament to the outstanding team we have assembled, the strong impact we have had on the market, and the high quality associated with everything we create,” wrote SVZ in a press release.
