B-Corp certified chocolate brand Divine Chocolate are expanding their chocolate offerings in two major retail chains in the US. Divine’s single-serving Snack Bars have been added to the shelves of more than 16,500 Dollar General stores across the country.
The Snack Bars are available in 60% Dark Chocolate and creamy Milk Chocolate varieties. Each are made with natural ingredients and Fairtrade cocoa grown by family farmers in Ghana. The single-serving offerings allow the customers to enjoy ethical chocolate on the go, and help with the growing trend towards monitoring portion sizes.
“Right now, there is a growing demand for single-serving premium snacks. But along with convenience, chocolate lovers also expect superior quality and are looking for all-natural products,” said Troy Pearley, Executive Vice President and General Manager, North America of Divine Chocolate. “With this smaller bar, we meet those needs, and being ethically sourced, they become a choice consumers can feel great about indulging in.”
Divine’s full-size 3 ounce bars are also available in select Target stores across the US. Target’s offerings include 70% Dark, Dark Mint, Milk Toffee & Sea Salt. The expansion into these retail outlets reflects increased consumer demand for naturally, ethically-sourced products. Industry findings show that the Ethical Premium Chocolate bar category – chocolate that is ethically sourced as established by Fairtrade or B Corp certifications and made from sustainable ingredients – is growing twice as fast as the Premium Chocolate category.
Divine chocolate is made with Fairtrade sugar and cocoa beans grown by family farmers. The chocolate bars contain 100% pure cocoa butter and no palm oil, soy and no GMOs. Products are vegetarian and vegan-suitable options are available. Packaging of the bars is plastic-free and includes recyclable foil and paper.
The chocolate is available for purchase nationwide as well as online on the company website. Its products are snack bars, a baking collection, unsweetened cocoa powder, crispy thins, organic bars, mini bars, white chocolate bars, drinking chocolate and vegan bars.
