Confectionery Live introduces Yannick Rihs

Ahead of the must-attend virtual event Confectionery Live happening this month, 21-22 February, we are pleased to announce our next speaker; Yannick Rihs, Plant Manager at PRONATEC.

Yannick Rihs was instrumental in setting up PRONATEC Swiss Cocoa Production in 2022 – the world’s only exclusively organic cocoa-processing plant. Yannick has got an MSc in Agricultural Economics and many years of experience as Managing Director and Cocoa Technologist in the cocoa processing industry in West Africa and Europe. During their stay in Ivory Coast, he and his wife initiated the construction of the Bühler Cocoa Competence Center in Abidjan to foster innovation in cocoa processing in the countries of origin and train the local teams on new technologies.

In September of last year, PRONATEC welcomed the results of an assessment carried out that indicated there had been no pesticide cases in the semi-finished cocoa products their factory produces since production began.

The decision to process purely organic semi-finished cocoa products reflects one such trend in the chocolate space that shows interest in pesticide-free chocolate, among others.

In his session at Confectionery Live, Yannick will talk about what makes PRONATEC Swiss Cocoa Production unique, touching on important customers’ requirements such as full traceability and highly customisable batch production for unique organic cocoa ingredients such as masses, butters, powders and nibs for the chocolate and food industry. PRONATEC specialises in meeting exacting certification requirements (organic, fair trade and other labels) and the strictest quality criteria.
