Ahead of the must-attend virtual event Confectionery Live happening next month, 21-22 February, we are pleased to announce that Klaudia Volmer, Product Manager Functional Carbohydrates at BENEO, will be speaking at the event.

Klaudia started her professional career in 2009 as a Product Manager for organic mineral salts at Jungbunzlauer. After five years, she moved on to oversee and develop the dairy and dairy alternative business at Döhler. Following this role, Klaudia joined BENEO in 2016 with a focus on increasing market awareness of BENEO’s next generation sugar, Palatinose™.

As Product Manager of Functional Carbohydrates at BENEO, Klaudia Volmer is responsible for the innovation and development of BENEO’s functional carbohydrates, Palatinose™ and Isomalt. Within this role, she provides the sales team with the support and information needed to promote the benefits of BENEO’s carbohydrates in the market. Further to this, she also explores new business segments globally for the product portfolio, in close collaboration with the different expert departments within BENEO, as well as external stakeholders.

In her session at Confectionery Live, Klaudia’s presentation will focus on the role of slow-release sugars in confectionery, highlighting their production benefits and often-overlooked health advantages. She will also discuss key trends for 2024 in the sweets industry, including the ‘Moderation Mindset,’ increased awareness of metabolic health, and the relationship between food, mood, and metabolic health. Her session will look at slow-release sugar, its applications in confectionery products and the relevant regulatory framework in Europe.
