Oat milk chocolate brand HAPPi, is continuing its eco-friendly efforts with the launch of its new Easter bars. As the holiday generates an extra 8000 tonnes of packaging approximately, traditional chocolate Easter eggs are not the most sustainable choice – to combat this, the company has launched a range of egg-shaped bars to target Easter egg lovers who are happy to switch from the usual hollow egg.

The new Easter Egg bars come in three flavours: Plain Milk, Salted Honeycomb and White Raspberry.

“We are really excited to launch our new Easter Egg bars, as we know there is demand for great quality and eco-friendly choices at this time of year,” said Gavin Cox, Founder of HAPPi.

“The new Easter Egg bars are packaged in 100% recyclable materials and create much less waste than standard eggs,” he continued. “We are really proud of the fact that we will be able to help reduce waste this Easter, as well as deliver the same great-tasting, rich and creamy chocolate that we are known for.”

The new Easter egg bars are also a good alternative for consumers looking for great-tasting, plant-based chocolate this Easter, with 35% less sugar than other brands, according to the company.

HAPPi only use cocoa that is slave and child labour free, the company said, from Colombia and sourced by family-owned chocolate manufacturer Luker Chocolate. The company has also said it is committed to investing in sustainable farming of its chocolate and ensuring it is ethically sourced.

The new Easter bars are retailing for UK£6.49 for a 140g bar available from Waitrose from 17 February 2023.
