A letter from Guido Hentschke, Director ProSweets Cologne

The international supplier fair ProSweets Cologne is in the starting blocks and will open its doors on 30 January 2022. We look forward to welcoming you all to the Cologne exhibition centre.  

So far, the registration level for ProSweets Cologne is very good and the strong support of our customers makes and very confident that the industry can finally come together in Cologne after two years of absence. In current conversations, our exhibitors emphasise how important personal meetings at trade shows are to them and how much they are looking forward to ProSweets Cologne 2022, in order to foster their business. We, too, are looking forward to meeting all of our exhibitors and visitors again in person. Together with you and more than 230 registered exhibitors from 22 countries, we offer a good starting position for the fair.  

One of the highlights will be the new Ingredients event zone. Here, in addition to market-relevant trends and studies, visitors can also expect a knowledge hub with presentations by ingredients exhibitors on the latest product developments and innovations. In addition, the special show Packaging will present packaging innovations. The focus will be above all on sustainable solutions, i.e. resource-saving, waste-avoiding, reusable packaging and digitalisation. With the future congress “#CONNECT2030 in transition”, which we are organising together with ISM, a third highlight awaits the trade visitors. Here we will be looking at the future of the confectionery and snack industry worldwide and giving an overview of what will be possible in 2030 in panel discussions and lectures. 

With our safety and hygiene concept #B-SAFE4business and the 3G access control system CH3CK , we put the safety and health of our customers first. In addition, with its new layout, which includes widening all aisles to at least 5.00 m, ProSweets Cologne is in an excellent position to ensure that distances are maintained at all times.  

We know from many conversations with our exhibitors that they are looking forward to the personal exchange in January 2022! But of course, not all of them will be able to come to the fair. For those, we have developed a new digital platform ISM & ProSweets @home that can connect people on a digital basis. Here, exhibitors can present their innovations in digital showrooms, chat with customers via video or network with new business partners. And best of all, you can see which customers have visited your digital stand and what they have viewed. ISM & ProSweets @home will also be available beyond the fair until 30.04.2022. So we are very much looking forward to this new hybrid experience and to seeing all of you at ProSweets Cologne 2022.
