Nestlé has pledged its support for the Regenerating Together Programme (RTP), a new industry initiative to help scale regenerative agriculture practices across global food supply chains. The new program from the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative Platform provides a framework with practical implementation guidance, transition support and new protocols to help improve consistency, credibility and transparency in how regenerative agriculture practices are adopted and verified across supply chains.

Backed by global partners

Supported by more than 40 other leading food and agriculture businesses, the program has been developed with input from farmers, agronomists, non-governmental organisations, academia and industry. It is backed by environmental organisations such as The Nature Conservancy and Earthworm Foundation. The program’s launch follows more than four years of cross-sector collaboration to develop a more practical approach to regenerative agriculture, including pilot initiatives across 23 farming systems in 25 countries.

Its approach aligns with Nestlé’s existing work with farmers and suppliers to help build more resilient supply chains, improve farmer livelihoods and contribute to positive outcomes for nature. The RTP marks an important step in strengthening alignment across the value chain and translating regenerative agriculture ambitions into practical action on the ground.

Pascal Chapot, VP Head of Agriculture at Nestlé, said: “Regenerative agriculture shows great potential to strengthen supply chain resilience against climate change while helping improve farmers’ livelihoods. To accelerate adoption, we need practical and credible frameworks that can be consistently applied across the value chain. SAI Platform’s Regenerating Together Programme is a significant step forward, helping to simplify implementation, build trust and support meaningful impact at scale.”

Nestlé has committed to advancing regenerative food systems at scale and aims to source 50% of its key ingredients from farmers adopting regenerative agriculture practices by 2030.
