Mars brand M&Ms has announced that the brand is beginning 2023 with a return to Super Bowl, as the company has been part of Super Bowl’s advertising lineup for more than a decade across its portfolio of brands.
Mars has a “history” of ad campaigns debuting around Super Bowl, the company has said. Most recently, the 2021 M&Ms ‘Come Together’ and in 2020, the Snickers ‘You’re Not You’ advertising campaign came out in 2010.
“Mars has delivered buzz-worthy Super Bowl moments over the years, and we’re inspired by the M&Ms brand being back in the mix in a new way for 2023,” said Gabrielle Wesley, Chief Marketing Officer, Mars Wrigley North America. “M&Ms brings people together through the power of fun to foster belonging, with universal humor that entertains fans … The latest campaign extends our purposeful work over the last year but is rooted in a new creative territory, and we can’t wait for our fans to see what’s about to unfold.”
The Super Bowl advertising spot continues the “momentum” for the brand, having formed the first ever M&Ms Advisory Board and evolving the characters by introducing the first new character in over ten years, Purple.
The 30-second spot Mars has secured will air during the third commercial break in the second quarter of Super Bowl, which will be broadcast on 12 February, 2023, as part of an extensive campaign throughout the month surrounding Super Bowl.
