As one of the selected exhibitors, Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen (WDS) presented current trends at ChocoTec, which was held in Cologne this year, from the 13-15 December 2022.
Presenting on current trends, WDS’ lecture focused on ‘Versatile moulding lines meet digital support tools’, using the opportunity to present customised production lines for all capacity requirements and demonstrated the trend-setting use of technologies and advantages of chocolate plants for the production of gum and jelly.
The WDS plants ConfecECO, ConfecPRO and ConfecVARIO can flexibly produce chocolate and jelly items in polycarbonate moulds. The ConfecECO is the entry-level line, while the ConfecPRO is a production line for medium to high capacities, while the machine concept ConfecVARIo opens up new production possibilities.
In addition, the company presented the “path to a digitised production environment” as for many years, it has been working on digital expansion on the basis of a specifically created digital roadmap. The focus is on the secure use of data and networking of production lines and the goal is individualised, intelligent and resource-efficient production as well as ensuring product and production safety.
Data is collected, processed and clearly presented for use via standardised data interfaces in ERP and MES systems or completely networked via IoT platforms such as SweetConnect. By continuously working on an increasingly digitised production environment in conjunction with hygienic and flexible production lines, WDS will continue to facilitate safe confectionery production in the future.
