The Dutch Pavillion team showcase what key industry developments they will be exhibiting at ISM, mainly in the biscuit, candy, chocolate, pretzels, and nuts sector.
Within a few weeks ISM Cologne will open its doors for the trade public. As we write this article ISM is still scheduled for end of January together with ProSweets from 30/01 until 02/02 – 2022. ISM is the world’s leading trade fair for confectionery and snacks.
In Germany, the conference of Minister Presidents will meet on Friday 8th of January. The result of this meeting can have an impact on the scheduled shows. For the moment Koelnmesse will stick to plans. Because it is a tradeshow and with the #B-Safe 4Business program and the strict visitor regulations for ISM and ProSweets the shows are not affected by the ban for public events in NRW.
Visiting the show wil be subject to the 3G regulations in Germany, which means if you are vaccinated, recovered, or tested you are welcome at the show.
In spite of the Covid-19 situation exhibitors and trade visitors are looking forward to visiting the shows. Over 1.100 exhibitors from over 60 countries has registered.
From the Netherlands, over 60 companies will be at ISM to meet you. Lots of VIP-Buyers from over 50 countries has shown interest and registered for an ISM-visit. Although countries outside Europe are facing traveling restrictions ISM is still receiving (VIP)-ticketing requests every day and registration numbers are increasing. At ISM you can visit 26 national pavilions from over 20 countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Turkey, UK and others.
Some great news from the Netherlands. VBZ, the sector organisation for biscuits, candy, chocolate, pretzels and nuts and the Dutch Sweets Export Association (DSEA) signed a 5-year cooperation agreement.
DSEA will take over all export activities of VBZ for biscuits, sweets, and chocolate with effect from January 1, 2022. As of today, the DSEA will also take over the organization of the VBZ pavilion for the upcoming ISM in January 2022 in Cologne.
Theo Heere, director of VBZ: “We are delighted that DSEA wants to take over our export activities. This allows VBZ to concentrate on its core business: representing the interests of VBZ members. Thanks to the many years of experience of the management of DSEA, we as VBZ are reassured that the export opportunities are in good hands not only for our members, but also for the entire confectionery industry in the Netherlands.”
DSEA was founded by Ton Baas and Rob Schotema. Ton Baas stated: “We have converted our many years of expertise into DSEA and are pleased that we can take over these tasks from VBZ. For 2022 we will start with a broad program at foreign trade fairs, and we are planning a large export conference in 2022 in collaboration with VBZ. We look forward to working with VBZ and its members.”
