pladis, the London based global snacking company, joins this year’s Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago (May 22nd –24th) hosted by the National Confectioners’ Association and will launch for the first time its new range of McVitie’s cookies and showcase its full range of delicious sweet and savoury snacks.
McVitie’s Cookies; Britain’s finest redefined for the American palette
A unique British cookie taste is coming to Sweets and Snacks Expo for the first time. McVitie’s cookies have been created from an iconic British cookie recipe to cater to the needs of US consumers.
At the pladis booth (#613) McVitie’s will treat guests to traditional ‘British tea and biscuits’ – with tea, coffee and cookies. Samples of the new brand, McVitie’s Golden Grains Milk & Dark Chocolate, McVitie’s Sweet Oat Crunch Milk Chocolate & Original and Golden Grains Milk & Dark THINS, will be available to taste.
McVitie’s is the leading cookie brand in the UK and its McVitie’s Chocolate Digestive cookie (The British name for Golden Grains) was voted Britain’s favourite biscuit, by a nationwide TV audience in 2017.

New Godiva Masterpieces flavor, “Bliss” fully yours
Buyers will be treated to Godiva Masterpieces Milk Chocolate Bliss, the new flavor within the range inspired by the legendary Bliss chocolate, dressed in an elegant, Belgian Art Nouveau design.
The Godiva Milk Chocolate Bliss is a smooth milk chocolate shell with a creamy milk chocolate filling and is available in both bar and individually wrapped formats.
Godiva Masterpieces collection was launched last year in mass channels and it showcases three of the best-selling Godiva signature chocolates: Dark Chocolate Ganache Heart, Milk Chocolate Caramel Lion, and Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Oyster. pladis on track in the US market
In North America, pladis business growth accelerated by over 5% in 2017 with strong success from its Godiva everyday luxury chocolate sales which grew 27% during 2017.
Over the next 18 months, pladis will continue to accelerate demand for its Godiva everyday luxury lines and expand its McVitie’s portfolio. Sales in US grocery and mass channels will account for around a fifth of pladis’ market growth in the next two years – through premium chocolate and biscuits.
Since bringing Ulker, United Biscuits, DeMet’s Candy Company and Godiva (under license for grocery channels) together to form a global company in June 2016, pladis has quickly grown to become the world’s number two in sweet biscuits and number seven in chocolate, the company aims to be the fastest growing company in its sector.
