Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats (MCD&T) has announced the addition of a new party cake to its celebration cake range – New Maltesers Party Cake.

Combining a light chocolate sponge, filled and topped with chocolate frosting, smothered in indulgent chocolate frosting ganache, and then finished with Maltesers and chocolate curls, Maltesers Party Cake is sure to become a new favourite for chocolate cake and brand fans.

The total cake market is worth some £964 million with MCD&T’s range of celebration cakes leading the way as the number one, and fastest growing, brand in the UK – amid an extremely challenging climate. Value sales of the range are up 12.5 per cent, led by the performance of the Galaxy Ripple Celebration Cake (+155% YoY), the top performing branded sku in the celebration cake category, adding incremental value and overperforming versus the average cake in the celebration fixture!

Michelle Frost, General Manager at Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats said:  “We are so excited to be able to introduce this cake to market at a time when we’re all starting to enjoy celebrations with family and friends again.  With eye-catching packagaing, and a great combination of flavours, we believe this cake offers something new to the cake fixture – at a great price point for consumers looking for a fun and tasty sharing cake for all occasions.”

Maltesers Party Cake is now available in Tesco. Serves 14. RSP £10.
