From its 1962 roots in Birkenhead, dtg Ltd has become a global leader in chocolate coating and polishing, blending heritage craftsmanship with cutting-edge innovation
Established in 1962 in a small workshop in Birkenhead on the Wirral, UK. dtg Ltd were formerly owned and operated by Frank Finn who designed the original “Finn” Coater and Polisher.
Chocolate Coating and Polishing has always been at the heart of dtg Finn equipment design and operation, delivering outstanding results with ease of production. 50 years since their first machines were used to coat and polish traditional peanuts and raisins, dtg are now seeing a wider variety of products being produced on some of those very same machines. A true testament to the endurance and versatility of Finn machines.
Continuous development and true commitment to the confectionery sector with a real understanding of the demands customers now face has dtg Limited in the proud position of not only producing the best Finn Coaters and Polishers ever, but also providing the fantastic innovative chocolate confectionery producers globally with an unrivalled customer service to match.
ThermoDrive® belt
dtg machines continue to set high standards in production efficiency and hygiene. The innovative ThermoDrive® belt has been in production since 2015, giving numerous efficiencies over the standard modular belt. Machines are available in capacities from 78 litres (54Kgs) to 680 litres (478kgs). A MicroCoater with a 6 litre (5kg) capacity is available for product development work, training and “table top” production. Finn Belt Coaters are used to cover various centres with all types of chocolate, including milk, dark, white, plant based, yoghurt and chocolate flavoured compounds. Products can be finished on the Finn Coater with powders, spices, chopped fruit and nuts or glazed and sealed on the Finn Polisher with automated dispensing of products.
The rising costs of ingredients together with the changing trends of the consumer has resulted in many different coatings being available in the confectionary market and it is these demands that have driven dtg Finn research and development to ensure their machines deliver sustainable production, with low losses, high yield and to exacting requirements. dtg’s design engineers are CFS Hygienic Design Certified to ensure they meet all the latest food production standards.
dtg have taken the proven excellence of the Finn machines design and will deliver a complete process system to include transfer conveyors, tanks, and dehumidification. They believe that building strong relationships and taking responsibility for their impact will allow them to solve the most difficult industry challenges.
The ‘Finn’ name is recognised as the most efficient chocolate coating and polishing machines for dragée production worldwide. dtg stand by their equipment and support their customers.
dtg are always pleased for the opportunity to meet existing or future customers in person and will be attending interpack to showcase their solutions. Hall 1 Stand C16
