$10m functional gummies plant opened up by Sunrise Confections

Bowl with Gummy Candy

The owner of Sunrise Confections, Mount Franklin Nutritionals, have opened up a 100,000 square feet nutritional dummies factory down in South Carolina, America.

The plant in question is located in Sumter, and is capable of producing 11 million dummies per day. The factory will primarily serve private label customers.

Mount Franklin believe that the move will be hugely beneficial for them in the long run, as they seek to compete in the $2.7bn nutraceutical industry.

The factory will also allow Mount Franklin to produce gummies which have been fortified with multivitamins.

The company claim they are aiming to create products which have non-GMO organic ingredients from fruit juices at any available position, while also striving to cut down on reduced added sugars.

In addition, they also said that they can support pectin and gelatin based formulations with natural flavours and colours, while packaging capabilities will also be on hand at the site.

Mount Franklin, a Texas based company, produce numerous goods for a host of major retailers, co-manufacturing customers, foodservice distributors and wholesalers through their Azar Nut and Sunrise Confections divisions.

The Sumter plant came into Mount Franklin’s ownership after the previous owner – the Au’some Candy Company – went bust.

The factory joins Sunrise Confections’ other candy plant, which is located in Juarez, Mexico.
