Expertise in depositing, process innovation and product development has made WDS a trusted global partner for confectionery manufacturers.

Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen GmbH (WDS) represents more than 100 years of engineering excellence in confectionery machinery. Headquartered in Rengsdorf, Germany, WDS has earned an international reputation for high-quality equipment, flexible modular machine concepts and extensive process expertise in depositing technology.

A key feature of WDS is its unique combination of mechanical engineering expertise and product development support. Many customer projects begin at the company’s Product Innovation Center in Rengsdorf. Here, food technologists and process specialists work closely with customers to test recipes, validate product ideas and develop suitable production concepts using WDS laboratory and pilot equipment.

WDS is globally recognised for its comprehensive and long-standing expertise in moulding and depositing plants for both jellies and chocolate. This versatility, combined with a deep understanding of complex moulding processes, has enabled WDS to develop a modern generation of plants setting benchmarks in efficiency, hygiene and gentle product handling.

WDS´ confectionery machine portfolio

The WDS portfolio covers a wide range of applications and production requirements for the entire spectrum of deposited masses with depositing temperatures ranging from 20 °C to over 150 °C.

In the field of Mogul plants, WDS has extensive experience with jelly and gum masses based on pectin, gum arabic, gelatine, agar-agar and carrageenan, as well as liquorice, fondant, cream, marshmallow foam and similar products. WDS Mogul plants are valued for their efficiency, durability and high availability, and are offered with both conventional and chainless tray transport systems. The latest highlight is the MogulPRO with its maintenance-friendly pusher system and sophisticated features for tray stacking and filling, product cleaning and depositing.

In starchless production, WDS offers solutions that have already proven successful for many years in the manufacture of toffees, fondant and jellies. In response to growing demand for hygienic production solutions, particularly in the rapidly expanding segment for functional gummies, WDS has further advanced its moulding technologies with a strong focus on clean, reliable and compliance-oriented production.

For chocolate applications, WDS supports businesses of varying sizes and production targets, offering capacities from 200 kg/h to 7,000 kg/h. Solutions include the ConfecECO, a start-up line for plain and centre-filled tablets, bars, pralines and masses with inclusions, as well as the ConfecPRO, a modular production plant designed for medium to high output and future-oriented expansion.

Excellence in production

Another important strength of WDS is its in-house manufacturing expertise. With its large machining centre, the company maintains close control over component and assembly quality, particularly for the depositor – the heart of every depositing line.

WDS is your partner far beyond the delivery of the machine: Seamless supply of spare and wear parts thanks to the digital 3D spare parts catalogue, the WDS webshop and further digital services within the LifeCycleCare framework, such as automatically generated performance reports for your plant, help to ensure your production excellence.

With its combination of engineering heritage, application expertise, technological flexibility and product innovation support, WDS is a reliable partner for confectionery manufacturers seeking to develop new products, optimise processes and unlock future growth opportunities.
