Lindt & Sprüngli’s Board of Directors have announced the appointment of Nicole Uhrmeister as Chief Human Resources Officer and Member of the Group Management, effective November 2023.
Nicole gained over 15 years of experience in various HR management roles for multinational FMCG companies. She joins from Capri Sun Holding where she was appointed Chief HR Officer in 2016. Prior to that, she held several HR roles at Coca-Cola. Nicole holds a Swiss diploma in Human Resources and a Master of Advanced Studies in Human Capital Management from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur.
“By appointing the Chief Human Resources Officer as a Member of the Group Management, we underline the important role that our people play in executing our growth strategy. Nicole Uhrmeister’s experience in various leadership roles and her deep knowledge of the FMCG industry make her an ideal fit for this key position,” commented Adalbert Lechner, Group CEO, Lindt & Sprüngli.
The news follows the Group reporting on sales growth across three geographic areas; Europe, North America and what it classifies as ‘Rest of the World’ which includes Japan and Brazil. This growth can be partly attributed to its retail section, which experienced above-average success in the first half of the year, as its 500 retail shops attracted consumers.
This is in spite of high raw material and energy costs which have proved challenging to contending, as sugar and packaging materials remain high in price. Demand for cocoa has risen continuously and hit an all time high in 2022, and hit the Group in particular as its chocolate recipes contain large amounts of cocoa.
