Loma Systems will showcase its latest developments in metal detection, X-ray inspection and checkweighing at PACK EXPO International 2026, taking place from 18–21 October at McCormick Place in Chicago.
Exhibiting at Booth S-4214, the inspection technology specialist will present a range of systems designed to help food manufacturers improve product safety, quality, hygiene and production efficiency.
Among the key launches will be Loma’s new Remote Test System (RTS), making its PACK EXPO debut. Developed for high-speed Vertical Fall and Waferthin metal detection systems, the technology is designed to simplify routine performance testing while reducing the need for manual intervention.
Rather than requiring operators to introduce test samples manually into equipment that may be elevated or difficult to access, the Remote Test System enables a controlled test cycle to be initiated remotely. According to Loma, a complete three-metal test can typically be carried out in under 30 seconds, helping manufacturers improve consistency and repeatability while reducing testing time.
Supporting hygiene and uptime
Also new at the show will be the CW3 RUN-WET Checkweigher, developed for high-care food environments and production areas requiring frequent high-pressure cleaning.
Tested to IP69 standards, the latest RUN-WET design incorporates a simplified frame intended to reduce potential contaminant traps and make cleaning easier. The system also requires no drying time following washdown, allowing manufacturers to restart production immediately and potentially improve overall line availability.
For snack manufacturers in particular, hygiene, inspection accuracy and reduced downtime are increasingly important considerations as production lines operate at higher speeds and handle a wider variety of products and pack formats.
Loma will also present its IQ4M Metal Detector, which combines Multi-Spectrum and Variable Frequency technologies to improve contaminant detection in challenging applications while reducing false positives. The system incorporates RFID security and OPC-UA connectivity, supporting data integrity and integration with wider factory systems.
Expanding X-ray inspection capabilities
For manufacturers evaluating X-ray technology, Loma will demonstrate its X5DE Space Saver Dual Energy X-ray system.
Developed for complex and mixed-density products where contaminants can be more difficult to identify, the system combines Dual Energy technology with multi-level algorithms to improve detection performance while helping to minimise false rejects. Loma says the system has also been designed with reduced maintenance requirements and total cost of ownership in mind.
Other equipment on display will include the IQ4 Waferthin and IQ4 Vertical Fall metal detectors, alongside the X5 4-inch Pipeline and X5 PACK Curtainless X-ray inspection systems.
Tomasz Strzemecki, North America Sales Director at Loma Systems, said PACK EXPO provides an opportunity for the company to demonstrate how metal detection, X-ray inspection, checkweighing and technical support can be brought together around the practical requirements of food production lines.
