Joseph Clarke, Senior Editor of Hand Media International’s International Confectionery magazine, has been appointed to the judging panel for the SIAL Paris Innovation Awards 2026.

The awards recognise products and concepts demonstrating innovation across the international food industry, including ingredients, packaging, technology, functionality and consumer experience.

As part of the international jury, Clarke will assess entries based on their relevance, added value and ability to respond to evolving market expectations.

Recognising meaningful food innovation

SIAL Innovation showcases products and technologies offering new approaches to food development, manufacturing and consumer engagement.

Judges assess the benefits each entry can bring to consumers, professionals and the wider industry, considering areas including formulation, packaging, technology, usage and consumer experience.

Clarke said: “I’m particularly looking forward to seeing the ideas addressing some of the biggest opportunities and challenges facing the food sector, whether through new ingredients, technologies, packaging solutions or completely new product concepts.”
