The Hershey Company has announced the appointment of Michael Del Pozzo as President of U.S. Confection, effective 16th September. Del Pozzo will be responsible for driving the next phase of Hershey’s growth in the U.S., overseeing a portfolio that includes iconic brands such as Hershey’s, Reese’s, and Jolly Rancher.
With over two decades of experience at PepsiCo, Del Pozzo brings a proven track record in managing and transforming some of the world’s most recognised consumer brands. His most recent role was as President and General Manager of Gatorade, where he led a $10 billion business and expanded the brand’s scope beyond traditional sports drinks. Del Pozzo’s previous roles at PepsiCo also include Chief Customer Officer for Frito Lay North America, where he led sales and commercial functions.
In his new role, Del Pozzo will join Hershey’s Executive Committee and collaborate with Kristen Riggs, President of Salty Snacks, and Rohit Grover, President of International, to advance Hershey’s strategic objectives. Del Pozzo will be succeeding Charles Raup, who is retiring from Hershey after 15 years to pursue other executive opportunities.
Michele Buck, Chairman and CEO of The Hershey Company, said, “Mike’s deep consumer insights, his customer relationships, and his track record of delivering results and driving strategic change position him as the ideal leader to guide our U.S. Confection business through its next chapter. He will be instrumental in building on our strengths and advancing our Leading Snacking Powerhouse vision.”
Buck also expressed gratitude to outgoing President Charles Raup, stating, “I want to thank Chuck for his many valuable contributions during his long tenure at Hershey. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
Del Pozzo commented on his new role, saying, “I am thrilled to join Hershey at such an exciting time for the company. I am inspired by the company’s history, culture, and talent. Its brands hold a unique place in the market and in the hearts of consumers. I look forward to working with Michele and the amazing team at Hershey to build on this strong foundation and help lead the U.S. Confection business through its next phase of growth and innovation.”
Del Pozzo’s appointment marks a significant step for Hershey as the company continues to evolve its U.S. Confection business, aiming to strengthen its position as a leader in the snacking industry.
