Choc Affair launches new range

Yorkshire-based brand Choc Affair has developed a new range of eight chocolate products: four variants of Chocolate Buttons and four flavours of drinking Hot Chocolate Flakes. The range is coming to independent retailers, farm shops and tourist attractions in September this year.

The new product line is an “exciting step” for the company, it said, as it looks to diversify its range from bars into chocolate occasions and baking. The range comes packaged in environmentally-friendly paper pouches, according to the company, which are 100% recyclable.

The company sources sustainably-grown cocoa from Colombia and pays an additional 5% per kilo to invest it back in reforestation projects in the regions it sources its cocoa from. All the chocolate is palm oil free, responsibly sourced, and its packaging is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

“We’re incredibly proud to be launching these Button and Hot Chocolate pouches to our independent retail customers,” said Linda Barrie, Founder of Choc Affair. “We’ve worked hard to develop environmentally friendly paper pouches which are recyclable at kerbside, which supports our commitment to being an ethical, green business.”

The new, 180g pouches of Chocolate Buttons include four flavours: Milk, Dark, Caramel and Oat Milk, which is Vegan Society approved. The buttons re made with single origin chocolate. The 200g Hot Chocolate Flakes are available in the same flavours which are created to melt well and contribute to a good drinking chocolate experience.

The plant-based Oat Milk flavours of Buttons and Chocolate have been developed to create a rich and smooth cacao flavour. The Chocolate Buttons have a retail price of UK£3.95 per pouch and a mixed case of 12 for £30. The Hot Chocolate Flakes are £6.50 per pouch and a mixed case of 12 for £47.40.
