The Bühler CMS combines process flexibility, hygienic design and shorter project timelines, helping manufacturers accelerate installation while maintaining reliable, consistent cream preparation

In industrial food production, consistency is essential. Manufacturers need reliable processes, high hygiene standards and the flexibility to respond to changing product requirements. At the same time, pressure is increasing to reduce installation time, control costs and bring new production capacity online faster.

The Bühler CMS Cream Mixing System was developed to meet these demands. Following an extensive research and development phase, the first system based on the new standardised concept has now been successfully completed. This milestone marks an important transition from individually engineered solutions to a modular, pre-engineered system.

Standardisation without sacrificing flexibility

At the heart of the CMS is a simple idea: standardisation should make projects faster and more efficient without limiting the customer’s process options. The system is therefore based on predefined modules, components and configurations that can be combined according to the specific application. Different variants are available for warm and cold mixing processes, allowing the CMS to support a broad range of cream recipes and production requirements.

Because the main system elements are already designed and engineered, project complexity can be reduced from the beginning. Customers benefit from shorter lead times, more predictable project execution and faster installation on site. The compact, skid-mounted design also simplifies transportation and helps reduce the amount of production space required.

Hygienic design and lifetime efficiency

Hygiene was another key priority during development. The CMS features stainless-steel product-contact components, self-draining piping and an easy-to-clean system layout. Carefully designed access points simplify inspection and maintenance, while the reduced number of individually engineered components supports consistent hygienic quality across all configurations. These features help manufacturers meet demanding food-safety requirements while reducing the effort needed for cleaning and regular servicing.

Standardisation also brings advantages throughout the system’s lifetime. The use of common components makes spare-parts management easier and supports faster maintenance. Clearly defined system variants improve documentation and provide a reliable foundation for future expansions or adaptations. Operators receive a proven solution with repeatable performance rather than a completely new design for every project.

However, standardisation does not mean compromising on flexibility. By combining predefined modules with carefully selected options, the CMS can be configured for different capacities, recipes and process conditions. Customers gain the security of an established system while retaining the flexibility required for their individual production environment.

The launch of the first standardised CMS represents more than the completion of a new machine. It introduces a smarter approach to cream mixing – one that brings together efficient engineering, hygienic design and dependable processing in a compact solution.

With the Bühler CMS, manufacturers can move from planning to production more quickly, reduce project risks and rely on a system designed for consistent results. It is a new benchmark for efficient and hygienic cream preparation – and an important foundation for the next generation of flexible food production.
