PROBAT Group has welcomed 20 new trainees across its international operations, with young professionals beginning their careers at locations in Germany, the Netherlands, Brazil and Scotland.
The new recruits joined the company at the beginning of September and will undertake training across technical, commercial and IT related disciplines. Over the coming years, PROBAT aims to provide the trainees with practical experience alongside the theoretical knowledge required to develop into skilled professionals within an internationally operating organisation.
Based in Emmerich, Germany, PROBAT develops machinery and processing solutions for the food industry. The company says its approach to training extends beyond technical education, with young professionals integrated into day to day business operations and given responsibility at an early stage.
Trainees will contribute to real projects and gain experience across different areas of the organisation, allowing them to apply their developing knowledge in practical working environments.
Building skills through practical experience
PROBAT sees the combination of theoretical learning and practical experience as central to its training strategy. By involving trainees in projects from the beginning of their careers, the company aims to develop both technical capabilities and an understanding of the requirements of an internationally connected business.

To mark the beginning of the programme, PROBAT organised onboarding and networking activities across its international locations. These sessions provided the new trainees with an opportunity to learn more about the company, understand its different areas of operation and meet colleagues across the business.
Developing the next generation
The latest intake forms part of PROBAT’s longer term approach to developing skilled professionals internally and providing young people with opportunities to establish careers within the group.
The company believes early exposure to practical projects can help trainees understand the complexity of operating within an international organisation, while allowing them to develop professionally and personally as their responsibilities increase.
