CL169 + FW749

The CL169 side-load cartoner is equipped with an innovative loading system that combines flexibility, sustainability and safety. The customer approached CAMA to have a compact solution, capable to handle 235 slugs/min of delicate Jaffa cakes. In order to exploit several business opportunites, the other key requirement was flexibility in the counts of the secondary packaging cartons. CAMA answer has been a cartoner equipped with a B&R ACOPOStrack. This enables to be “tolerant” at the infeed pitch, while extremely precise when coupling with the pitch of the buckets of the cartoner, making it possible to group by even and odd numbers, single and double layer. As the system runs without vacuum, there is no need neither for compressed air, not for noisy vacuum pumps. The ACOPOStrack control is fully integrated with the Rockwell one of the cartoner, thanks to the open-platform approach of CAMA software department. Changeover is provided by a simple and intuitive HMI procedure. The integration of coding and AI-driven camera for printing verification make sure that each customer is receiving packs with all key information, fully complying with local rules.
CAMA supply is then completed by one of its flagship wrap-around casepackers, the model FW749, which packs cartons is shelf-ready cases, with or without lid on top, according to customer preferences. This machine too is equipped with fully automated changeover in specific functional groups, making the process easy, fast and, above all, repeatable, granting a vertical start-up.
