The former CEO of Coca-Cola China, Glen Walter, has changed sectors somewhat as he will now become Mondelēz’s EVP and president for North America.

Walter will now be in charge of Mondelēz’s $7bn business which has a host of the company’s biggest brands, such as belVita biscuits, Trident gum, and Oreo.

Mondelēz’s Chairman and CEO, Irene Rosenfeld, was delighted to have Walter on board, and praised his track record not just in North America, but across the globe.

“Glen is an inspirational leader with an impressive track record of building brands and driving growth in North America and beyond,” Rosenfeld said. “His deep operating experience in complex businesses, including a strong focus on sales excellence.”

Earlier this year, Mondelēz dealt with the departure of former head Roberto Marques by naming Tim Cofer as their interim president of North America, however he will now return to his former position.

“Cofer will now return full time to his responsibilities as chief growth officer,” the company said.

Following Mondelēz’s CEO Irene Rosenfeld announcing her retirement in August, the former president of McCain Foods – Dirk van de Put – will take over her role as CEO from December.

However, Rosenfeld will remain as chairman of the board until the 31st of March 2018, where she will then retire and pass the chairmanship over to van de Put.
