New training machine unveiled at Gerhard Schubert Training Centre

Renowned packaging industry player, Schubert, has introduced a new training machine at its Training Centre in Crailsheim, Germany. With Schubert’s reputation as an innovation leader, the move seems aimed at addressing shortcomings in meeting the demand for training rather than a stride in technological advancement.

The Training Centre, operational for just over a year and a half, has been trying to keep up with the high demand for its courses. In response, Schubert has now invested in a new training machine to bolster its capacity.

Since its inauguration at the end of 2022, the Training Centre has undergone several developments. Existing training programmes were revamped to better cater to the needs of both customers and employees. New formats and content were introduced, including online courses and a digital learning platform. Staffing levels were also bolstered to ensure continuous delivery of the programme. However, the lack of adequate training equipment remained a glaring gap in Schubert’s offerings.

Sarah Busch, Head of Customer Training at Gerhard Schubert, explained the rationale behind the investment, stating, “Our training concept blends traditional and digital learning methods. While interactive courses and videos have their merits, some subjects are best grasped through hands-on experience with a trainer. As our previous machines were consistently booked, we saw fit to invest in a new model.”

The new training machine facilitates various exercises, including format changeovers, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks. These exercises aim to familiarise participants with the cutting-edge technology employed in Schubert’s packaging machines. It’s hoped that the enhanced capacity will improve the practical training experience for both employees and customers, ultimately benefiting their day-to-day operations.
