Food inspection technology company Anritsu Infivis will be teaming up with French distributor BFR Systems at CFIA EXPO Rennes 2023 this year, showcasing a range of detection equipment that improves food safety and helps to drive down costs on food production lines.
BFR Systems is a French group with over 60 years of experience in turnkey solutions for the food processing industry – including pastry, bakery, cheese, meat, snacking, ready meals and pet food, and is one of around 20 specialist distributors that make up Anritsu’s European network. Its energy-saving, start and end-of-line Anritsu inspection solutions will be showcased the show, including X-ray machines and checkweighers demonstrated as part of complete automated lines.
The inspection systems can detect a variety of foreign objects in food, including metal, glass, bone, stone, plastic and cement. Equipment selection and placement depends on inspection objectives. In addition to preventing contaminants, the equipment has been designed to reduce power consumption and total cost of ownership.
The inspection technology complements BFR’s range of automatic loading and packaging systems developed specifically for the food and beverage sector. The quality assurance solutions are able to provide bulk inspection of raw ingredients right through to case inspection prior to palletising and can be customised for a range of products including bakery, prepared foods, confectionery, snacks and other categories.
“We’re thrilled to be joining our French distributor BFR Systems on its stand at CFIA, France’s exhibition in the food processing sector. Visitors will see how the latest detection technology has evolved to eliminate contaminants from the food chain, even when products are non-uniform in size and shape,” said Michael Stuart, European Sales Director, Anritsu. “BFR’s team of engineers and technologists contains specialists in practically every food division, from bakery and snacks to meat and meat-alternatives. Likewise, we can provide in-depth product information and test reports for many specific lines.”
Detecting contaminants differs between X-ray systems and metal detectors, so the type of foreign bodies needs to be considered when selecting the appropriate inspection system. Processing companies will benefit from having both on their production line to ensure all eventualities are covered.
