AAK is redefining quality assurance in the plant-based oil industry with a unique approach to oil tasting, led by Antonia Nilsson at their tasting lab in Karlshamn, Sweden.
“Each day, Antonia samples and evaluates between 50 and 70 different plant-based oils. This meticulous process allows us to deliver top-quality oils to our customers, enabling them to create great products for consumers,” a spokesperson for AAK explained.
In the tasting lab, Nilsson and her team assess not just the flavour but also the overall quality and efficiency of the production processes. This rigorous testing ensures that every batch meets the high standards customers expect. “Oil tasting is a complex task requiring a refined palate, which Antonia has developed over years of practice,” the spokesperson added.
Talented tasters like Nilsson are rare, and her role is crucial to AAK’s goal of delivering the best possible products. The insights gained from oil tasting enhance production processes, resulting in top-quality plant-based oils.
