Global snacking group pladis has appointed Mario Reis as chief supply chain officer, taking a key role in the company’s global supply chain agenda across all its markets.
He joins the business, which is includes household brands across the sector including McVitie’s, Godiva and Ulker, at a point of expansion for the group as it improves its position in a number of confectionery segments.
Formed three years ago, the company also owns regional brands such as Jacob’s, go ahead!, Carr’s, Flipz, BN, Verkade and many more, delighting consumers with products across the snacking category including sweet and savoury biscuits, wafer, cake, chocolate, gum and candy.
“Mario brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to pladis,” said CEO Salman Amin. “His vast experience leading the end-to-end Supply Chain in large, global businesses means he will be a great asset to our team as we build on our excellence across our markets. Mario has more than 30 years of international supply chain, procurement and management consulting experience. He joins pladis from COTY, a leading multinational beauty company, where he was the chief global supply chain officer leading the supply chain agenda during a period of transformation. Prior to his role at COTY Mario held senior positions with leading FMCG companies including Danone and Mars and consultancy experience at Bain & Co, supporting the companies with best-in-class supply chain strategies.

Reis holds a Master of Business Administration degree from INSEAD and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester.
