American Oreo lovers will have three new flavours to feast on in 2018, with Mondelēz International further boosting their US market.
The three flavours in question are Kettle Corn Oreo, Cherry Cola Oreo and Pina Colada Oreo Thins. These three were the finalists of the #MyOreoCreation contest, which allowed fans to suggest new flavours via the hashtag on social media platforms, by texting in, or by going to their MyOreoCreation website.
This scheme ran from May the 8th to July the 14th in 2017, and these flavours will be exclusive to the US, but will only be on sale during the spring/summer period.
Mondelēz ran the rule over the flavour ideas suggested on three factors – taste appeal, which made up 40% of their judgement, creativity (30%) and originality (30%) to come to the conclusion of three finalists.
These three flavours are now in a final of sorts, and from May, fans will have a chance to vote for their favourite.
All three finalists have already managed to win $25,000 for their suggestions, but the consumer who suggests the winning flavour will win $500,000 and a trip to New York City.
Elsewhere, there will be other returning seasonal flavours in the Area range for 2018, with Oreo Hot & Spicy Cinnamon, Firework Oreo, Peeps Oreo and Oreo Chocolate Hazelnut all making a comeback.
