After passing $100m in sales, Hershey decides to expand Cookie Layer Crunch range

Hersey's Chocolate world

As a result of the Cookie Layer Crunch range becoming Hershey’s bestselling launch in over a decade, the company have decided to expand the range.

To coincide with US National Cookie Day, on the week commencing the 4th December, Hershey opted to launch the fourth flavour in the Cookie Layer Crunch (CLC) range, which was Triple Chocolate.

In December 2016, Hershey initially launched CLV with three flavours – mint, caramel and vanilla creme – and it has grown to be one of the top 2.5% candy, mint and gum launches in the last five years by retail sales, according to data by IRI.

In addition, CLC has been flanked and supported by a ‘Get Layered’ advert campaign across a host of consumer touch points, which include out-of-home marketing, social media, digital and television.

The latest addition to the range, CLC Triple Chocolate is made up of Hershey chocolate on the outside, while inside there are crunchy chocolate cookie bits and layers of creme.
