Duravant have expanded their reach by acquiring Ohlson Packaging, which is a weighing, counting and filling machine manufacturer, who have a whole host of big name clients, such as Maple Leaf Foods, Hershey’s, Frito-Lay and Tyson Foods.

With their new purchase, Duravant have stated that they plan to continue to serve their customers in their usual outlets of hardware, frozen foods and snacks, while also looking to expand their product portfolio and service capabilities.

Mike Kashmir, the CEO of Duravant, believes that Ohlson Packaging offers the company a complete line, which includes combination and linear weighers, pouch machines, rotary tables for packaging products into bags, boxes, bottles, cups, trays, containers, remade pouches, MAP systems specialising in the food industry, vertical baggers, and bucket elevators.

Ohlson Packaging is based in Taunton, Massachusetts, and made headlines for a different reason to confectionery last year after the company designed and manufactured a full range of semi-automatic and automatic net weighing and counting machines for the cannabis industry, which raised many eyebrows.
