Nestle have linked arms with Netherlands logistics company Kuehne + Angel in order to store a wealth of their products over the next five years, which includes the company’s coffee, chocolate, and culinary items.
From 2018, Kuehne + Nagel will be in charge of and sort out all transportation, delivery and warehousing for Nestle, which means the logistics company will take more responsibility with Nestle, as they’re upping their workload.
Nestle’s consumer internet orders for NESCAFE Dolce Gusto, Special T and Nespresso are all supplied by Kuehne + Angel, while the logistics company have also been working with Nestle International Travel Retail for over 15 years, which has seen them supply goods to duty-free destinations all over the world, including cruise ships and airports.
In their downtime, Kuehne + Nagel have gone out of their way to try and reduce their CO2 footprint, with the Netherlands based company electing to use solar panels on their distribution centre roofs. As well as this, they are ISO 14001 certified and they use LNG-fuelled trucks. Not content with stopping there, the company have a several locations which are BREEAM certified – an official assessment required for sustainable real estate.
Kuehne + Nagel’s new 50,000 square metre distribution centre, which is being constructed in three phases, will have all of the measures mentioned.
