Haribo announced beginning gummi production at its first-ever North American manufacturing facility based in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, US. The brand-new factory was created to meet growing demand from American consumers for the brand, which currently produces over 25 varieties of gummi treats for the US and more than 1200 types globally.
The 500,000 square foot factory is focused on producing Haribo’s Goldbears, with plans to expand production in the near future. The site employs almost 200 associates.
The Pleasant Prairie facility marks Haribo’s 16th factory and supports global production of over 160 million Goldbears every day. The facility is part of a multi-phase project, as the first phase includes the production facility, an administrative building and warehouse.
Future phases are in development, the company said, and will include bringing in new technology, capacity and hundreds of associates to produce the gummis.

As the Goldbears will continue to be produced in Pleasant Prairie, Haribo’s latest treat, Wild Berry Goldbears, will be launching nationwide in the US.
