Duty free range from Guylian

Guylian will be exhibiting at TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes, the Duty Free & Travel Retail Global Summit, with a new duty free range and reviewed Master’s Selection. Both will be available in the travel retail channel and duty free shops from mid October 2022, but visitors to the show can sample them in Cannes, which is running from 2 to 6 October, 2022.

As air traffic has increased, so has duty free sales. Guylian’s new duty free range is in line with recently launched packaging which since September this year, has been 100% recyclable. Characterised by its blue green colour, the range symbolises the colour of the North Sea – where the founders in 1958 gained inspiration for chocolate seashells – the Brussels skyline in the background and the ‘traveller’s exclusive’ stamp on the packaging.

The recipe of the chocolates has been improved as the new version contains whole and traditionally roasted hazelnuts. As of June 2022, the company uses 100% Fairtrade cacao.

The Guylian Master’s Selection comes in cardboard packaging which is 100% plastic-free. It comes in a 117 gram box with 16 chocolates or a 185 gram box with 25. The Master’s Selection contains unexpected recipes alongside more classic flavours with the Guylian praline. The pralines are crafted with carefully selected ingredients, Fairtrade cocoa and don’t contain palm oil or soy in line with the company’s sustainability policy.

Both the duty free range and the Master’s Selection are in line with the company’s commitment to 100% Fairtrade. As a result, US$500,000 worth of Fairtrade bonuses will go to West African cacao farmers and their cooperatives in the Guylian supply chain.

Since the start of this year, the company’s production site in Belgium has been climate neutral, meaning CO2 emissions have been reduced to their lowest possible level and other emissions are compensated.

The six praline flavours of Guylian’s Master Selection are Coffee Cardamom, Mocha, Almond Praline, Caramel Pineapple, Signature Praline and Orange.
