Cox & Co to supply Virgin Atlantic with eco-friendly chocolate bars

Single-origin chocolate brand Cox & Co has secured a significant contract with Virgin Atlantic, marking a major milestone for the company. The six-month agreement will see Cox & Co’s 25g Bee Pollen & Honey chocolate bars included in Virgin Atlantic’s luxury in-flight food offerings.

Crafted from premium Colombian cacao, these chocolate bars are noted for their unique blend of honey and bee pollen, providing a balanced flavour of sweet and bitter. The bars will be available to all passengers on Virgin Atlantic flights starting this month.

“This is a huge moment for Cox & Co to have our bars onboard Virgin Atlantic. As an independent chocolate brand, this opens up the opportunity to get our chocolate into the hands of a whole new customer base, but it also debuts our 100% recyclable paper flow wrap, which is the first of its kind in the UK confectionery market,” said Gavin Cox, Founder of Cox & Co.

The introduction of Cox & Co’s chocolate bars is aligned with Virgin Atlantic’s commitment to sustainability. The new paper flow wrap, which is the first of its kind in the UK, offers an eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrappers. Gavin Cox added, “We believe this new partnership with Virgin Atlantic is a perfect match, with our collective drive towards sustainability and the brands’ actions to reduce our environmental impact. Our paper flow wrappers offer a recyclable wrapping that reduces the amount of waste for the airline.”

The high-grade paper flow wrap has a 65% lower climate impact than traditional plastic wraps and is fully biodegradable. This innovation helps reduce Cox & Co’s carbon footprint by eliminating the need for secondary packaging.

Cox & Co’s mission is to create delicious, distinctive chocolate with a focus on sustainability. Partnering with Colombia’s Luker Chocolate estate, Cox & Co invests in sustainable farming methods, supporting farmers and communities to produce ethical chocolate.
