Automation company Promtek will be demonstrating how its process control solutions for smart recipe handling and monitoring real-time power consumption can be used to transform a business at this year’s Foodex exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham.
At the show, the company will be exhibiting its StoraWeigh control system and Condor technology which can provide a strategic overview into all aspects of production, including ingredient reformulations, climate impact and energy costs. Condor’s all in one platform uses algorithms to calculate energy efficiency and as a web-based modular integration with security properties, it also provides customised batch reports with key information for the manufacturer.
On top of energy usage, Condor also allows security management and monitoring of raw material parameters such as tolerances, densities, families, cross contamination, mixer settings and more. As consumers become more conscious of healthy eating it enables food manufacturers to create, subsitute and manage ingredients and finished products.
The company’s system provides traceability and tracking of materials for recipes with real-time monitoring of information. Condor works by checking barcodes, lot codes and expiry dates across the production process for accuracy and efficiency in helping to prevent food waste.
Integrating a platform with StoraWeigh allows the manufacturer to collect all of the information and manage it in one place, creating weights and measurements of all ingredients and materials, recipe control and menu scheduling; all of which can be customised to meet the changing needs of a manufacturer.
StoraWeigh was developed by Promtek over several years to help with managing process control across all levels of production. Other benefits offered by the system include ingredient traceability and cross-contamination prevention.
According to the company, data produced from process controls can be used for labels, accreditation, accounting and stock levels. StoraWeigh also has built-in logic to control and monitor a wide range of equipment either as part of a batch process or independently.
“We’re thrilled to be attending Foodex for the first time. We’re known for our ability to work with recipes – it’s not a simple on-off switch and every customer has different approaches,” said Lani Scholtz, Marketing Manager at Promtek. “If changes need to be implemented, we can interpret the data collected to spec better equipment for process management.”
By collecting and analysing data from production lines, the food manufacturer can be provided with an accurate representation of how a facility is performing.
