PFM Packaging Machinery will be showcasing its D-180 horizontal pouch machine for the UK market at this year’s PPMA show, running 26-28 September in Birmingham, UK – as part of its UK debut.
The centrepiece among the company’s automated solutions on display, the D-180 is fully servo controlled, modular horizontal stand-up pouch packaging machine. The model can complete format changes in minutes thanks to an automated, tool-less procedure with no cleaning necessary before changeover.
Being the most compact machine in the D-series range, the D-180’s technology produces up to 80 pouches per minute and can process eco-friendly films. It is suitable for any applications in which products are pouched, including confectionery, whey powders and non-food products.
PFM will also be featuring an extensive range of its form, fill and seal technology including its RQ550 Nano Bagmaker. Also making its UK debut, the RQ550 produces standard pillow bags, block bottom bags, steelo-bags and doy-style bags, all from the one machine.
Equipped with a Quick Release Module (QRM) that enables format change in less than three minutes, the RQ550 Nano reduces changeover time and improves the finished pack quality, in a compact machine footprint. It will be exhibited with an MBP-14C3 multi-head weigher with the butterfly timing hopper design.
Another machine on show will be the PFM Pearl flowrapper – suitable for entry-level applications yet also configurable, including the addition of automatic feeding systems. Available with a 1-3m infeed and held in regular stock at PFM UK, the machine is ideal for quick turnarounds and more urgent projects.
Finally, PFM will be showcasing the latest generation Scirocco. Equipped with a new design fin seal assembly comprising of four sets of fully adjustable sealing wheels, this new generation has greater control of sealing pressure and temperature, critical when working with the latest sustainable wrapping materials.
“PPMA promises to be a busy and exciting show for PFM as we showcase and in fact debut an exciting cross-section of our best packaging solutions. We are a great automation partner, and we want you to see that live,” said Chris Bolton, Managing Director, PFM. “Bringing a new machine to the UK market is both exciting and daunting but it’s great to get out there and meet new customers, and catch up with a few old ones too. So, come and say hi and we’ll show you what a massive difference our solutions will make, how they reduce waste, save money and deliver the highest quality flexible packaging for your products.”
