Ottera announces key leadership appointments

Oterra announced today the addition of two new members to its leadership team, effective immediately.

René Schou Appointed as Chief Commercial Officer

René Schou has been appointed as Oterra’s new Chief Commercial Officer. Schou joins Oterra with a robust background from AAK, where he served in various key roles, including EVP, President Global Industries, EVP, President Food Service Europe, and President Technical Products and Feed. He played a crucial role in AAK’s transformation over the last decade. Before his tenure at AAK, Schou held positions as Global Business Director and Regional Sales Director at Danisco.

Commenting on his new role, Schou said, “I am excited for the opportunity to join Oterra. I look forward to building on Oterra’s journey and continuing to deliver value for our customers, shareholders, employees, and the community. I believe Oterra has a lot of potential to unleash and unfold.”

Oterra anticipates that Schou’s experience will aid in advancing its mission to promote the adoption of natural colours globally and further integrate natural colours across various food and beverage categories.

Jan Fledelius Appointed as Chief People & Culture Officer

Oterra has also appointed Jan Fledelius as the new Chief People & Culture Officer. Fledelius brings extensive experience from his previous role at Ellab A/S, a Novo Holdings company, where he was Chief People Officer. His career also includes senior leadership positions at LEO Pharma, Scandinavian Tobacco Group, and Novo Nordisk, with experience in both Danish and international markets.

Fledelius expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, “Oterra’s mission to harness the power of nature’s true colours and provide sustainable, natural food solutions deeply resonates with me. I’m excited to work with a team that shares my passion for creating vibrant, healthy products and fostering a supportive, developing, and innovative workplace.”

Oterra views its employees as its greatest asset and believes Fledelius’s appointment underscores the company’s commitment to nurturing a collaborative and innovative work environment.

The company looks forward to the contributions of René Schou and Jan Fledelius to its continued growth and success.
