NOMO celebrates five years of vegan chocolate

NOMO is celebrating its fifth year and continued growth with a launch of new products.

Taking the shelves in May 2019, NOMO was able to turn profit after one year by filling the gap for mainstream, reasonably priced dairy free chocolate and confectionery. Conceived by a team at Kinnerton Confectionery and spearheaded by innovation expert and marketer Emma Perrett, NOMO was designed to offer an option that is safe for adults and children with allergies or intolerances and dietary restrictions which tastes even better than mainstream counterparts and consistently offers new formats and products in line with consumer demand which never compromise on taste.

The brand has seen exponential growth within five years and is now a leader in one of the fastest-growing categories in confectionery. NOMO’s growth substantially outpaces the category’s overall growth of 18.3% YoY with a rate of 32.4% YoY and an overall worth of £12.5m. Despite increased competition from major and smaller chocolate brands entering the vegan and free from space, NOMO’s market value is now nearly three times that of its closest rival, boasts three of the top 10 selling SKUs and has branched out from the UK into German and Australian markets.

As the brand turns five it has released the latest in a series of NPD with its new Mini Bars Mixed Sharing Box. Created to satisfy every chocolate craving, the offering features 12 mini bars in a selection of NOMO’s most beloved flavours, including creamy choc, caramel, mint and orange crunch. It fills a gap in the free from boxed chocolate and gifting category, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to continuously developing and expanding.

The brand has also invested in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities which allow for strict allergen control, and regularly releases new products which cater to evolving consuming trends. NOMO products are plant-powered and made with Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa. They are vegan and free from dairy, egg, gluten and nuts to ensure that everyone can enjoy delicious chocolates.
