According to a survey carried out by The Harris Poll in early August of this year surveying over 2000 adults, 60% of Americans agree it is socially acceptable to start celebrating Halloween before October. With this in mind, The Hershey Company is launching Halloween-themed confectionery early.
The survey included 2065 of US adults ages 18 and older, of which 1698 celebrate Halloween. Other key survey findings include that 70% of parents with children under the age of 18 believe it is socially acceptable to start celebrating Halloween before October, and 75% agree that they start decorating the outside of their home for the Halloween season as early as they want to.
“We know spotting that first bag of Halloween candy, whether it’s Hershey’s, Reese’s or Kit Kat, is a seasonal thrill for our fellow Halloween superfans,” explained Alyssa Smith, Senior Manager, Halloween at The Hershey Company. “Finding out that a majority of people want to begin their Halloween celebrations before October was not surprising for us, but it ignited a spark for us to get the party started early.”
This year, Hershey is giving select fans the opportunity to win a Halloween starter kit complete with supplies to celebrate the season. Starter kits will go to the first participants who enter the giveaway, containing fan favourites of Hallowen candy from Hershey, decor and crafts.
For a chance to win, starting 15 September, visit Hersheys on Instagram and Twiter and respond to dedicated giveaway posts.
