Former Barry Callebaut president Dave Johnson has been announced as Swiss-Irish bakery firm Aryzta’s new CEO in North America, in an attempt to reverse declining revenues.
The 61-year-old, who is from Wisconsin, has a huge amount of experience within the food industry, having been both president and CEO of Swiss chocolate and cocoa behemoth Barry Callebaut’s America operation, having previously spent 20 years with Kraft Foods, where he was also president of their North America branch from 2003-2006.
During Johnson’s nine-year spell with Barry Callebaut, he managed to almost double the company’s sales volume and profitability, while also managing to establish a very strong market position in Latin America, before retiring from the position in August 2017.
