With the aim of bringing together manufacturers of packaging machinery and technology to offer global solutions for packaging products to companies around the world, Barcelona Packaging Hub was born.
The Hub has been created by several manufacturers in the sector: Effytec, INVPack, Mengibar, Synchropack, United Barcode Systems, Volpak and Xolertic. The companies, with more than 25 years of experience in the sector and presence in the five continents, are producers of specific machinery (horizontal machinery, stick packaging, fillers and cappers, end-of-line automation, flow wrappers, labeling, coding and marking, among others).
Barcelona Packaging Hub is a network of companies located in Barcelona that focuses on different market segments, in particular, technology partners, end customers, suppliers, partners and potential partners, among others.
There are currently nine companies that are part of the Hub. They all make it possible to complete production line projects that require packaging solutions. However, the Hub is open to incorporating new partners and technological partners to strengthen the links between companies in the sector.
Effytec designs and manufactures high-tech horizontal packaging machinery for a wide range of sectors. Its compact, high-speed equipment can produce from single-dose sachets to medium and large format pouches. From an extensive range of equipment, and starting from a reel or pre-formed bag, all its models are customised and can be synchronised with all types of dispensers and end-of-line systems.
INVPack manufactures vertical packaging machinery in single-dose formats such as stick pack, sachet, bagger and even has a capsule packaging line. Its latest innovation, the K2 model, is a rotary machine with intermittent motion for dosing, filling and packaging capsules. The machine, which produces up to 120 capsules per minute, is prepared for easy format changeover for different capsule designs, models and materials.
Jorpack, a company with more than 30 years of experience in the sector, specialises in the design, manufacture and assembly of complete packaging machinery lines, with emphasis on palletising and palletising solutions, case packing and robot solutions. In addition, its philosophy is based on providing each customer with the best solution that adapts to their products and needs, always committed to innovation and technology.
Antonio Mengibar S.A specialises in filling and capping for liquid and semi-liquid products in bottles. Its range of machinery includes rotary filling and capping equipment that can fill viscous products such as gels and shampoos, as well as highly foaming detergent products. Mengibar also manufactures its own cappers for spray guns, dosing pumps, screw caps and pressure caps with electronic torque control.
Movitec Wrapping Systems is a manufacturer of wrapping machines for palletised loads and supplier of wrapping solutions for end-of-line and picking processes. They contribute to the fight against climate change with proposals such as the automatic application of corner protectors that reduce the consumption of stretch film.
Synchropack supplies automatic wrapping solutions with flexible materials, by integrating automatic feeding systems with horizontal flow wrapping machines.
United Barcode Systems offers solutions to any need related to labelling, coding and marking of products, boxes and pallets. The APLINK HRX Series printer, which introduces the GrayScale concept to the market with the GS05 180dpi and GS10 360dpi printheads, considerably improves the definition and native resolution of the prints we are used to seeing.
Volpak manufactures flexible packaging machines. Enflex, the company’s brand for the pharmaceutical industry, has the new F11 model, a versatile machine designed for forming, filling and sealing flat pouches. The machine distinguishes itself from the competition with its small footprint and ease of use.
Finally, Prodec, specialists in cartoning and case packing solutions, and Sinterpack, experts in palletising, depalletising and collaborative robotics. Founded more than 40 and 50 years ago respectively, they belong to the Xolertic group, which was born from the union of both companies to provide complete end-of-line solutions. Their current trend is towards two collaborative robots, one that forms the box and fits and the second that fits and palletised.
The entire range of machinery described above is governed by high quality standards and responds to new demands, such as sustainability and respect for the environment.
